UPDATE 20 MARCH 2024

Suffolk County Council’s Development and Regulation Committee met to consider the planning application on Tuesday 19th March 2024. Residents were very well represented with excellent speeches from Cllr. Dr. Michael Bamford and Mr Tom Hill KC and Cllr Adrian Ward from Copdock and Washbrook Parish Council. There were significant concerns expressed about the effectiveness of the Lorry Management Plan but the majority of County Councillors voted in favour of the application with 6 votes in favour, 2 votes against and 1 abstention.

Suffolk County Council’s Development and Regulation Committee will be meeting to consider the planning application on Tuesday 19thMarch 2024, starting at 10.00am, at Endeavour House, 8 Russell Road, Ipswich, IP1 2BX.  You are invited to attend.

BROCKLEY WOOD QUARRY APPLICATION

Bentley Parish Council have received the following email from SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL -
I write to advise you that consideration of Planning Application Ref. SCC/0105/22B (Agenda Item 5, Brockley Wood) at tomorrow’s meeting of the Development and Regulation Committee has, at the applicant’s request, been deferred in order to allow the submission of an amendment to the application. It is understood that the amendment will include the removal of the proposed concrete batch plant.
As a result, the application will not be presented to the Committee tomorrow, pending the receipt of further information from the applicant and a further round of public consultation.
This change is illustrated in the image below.  The PC understand that the wash plant with concrete crushing and waste recycling will remain in the area between Brockley Wood and Old Hall Wood.
